Parcel Services
Overview
If you are used to sending express parcels to the Netherlands, the Parcel Service from PostNL will provide you with a great alternative solution. Although they do not offer a ‘guaranteed’ next day delivery, they do offer a high-quality, 24-hour service with track and trace possibilities against incredible rates. So you will always know where your parcel is in the PostNL parcels network and you don’t have to pay an express price!
Some details per product
- One price for any destination in the Netherlands.
- Send at least 100 parcels per year.
- Maximum weight of a parcel can be 31.5kg.
- Two delivery attempts are made between 9am and 9.30pm (second attempt made on day 2).
- Parcel may be delivered at the neighbours if delivery unsuccessful (this option can be cancelled and never applies for shipments including Signature on Delivery, Extra Insurance and Cash on Delivery).
- If delivery not successful, the parcel is kept for collection at the post office for 3 weeks.
Value-added services
Track and Trace
This is always available as part of the standard Parcel Service at no extra cost. Your parcel will be scanned when it is accepted at the PostNL sorting centre. It is scanned again after your parcels are sorted and ready for distribution. The final scan is then done after delivery. If delivery was not possible, a reason will be given (i.e. refused by addressee).
Signature on Delivery
If you need further proof of delivery than provided by the Track and Trace option, you can choose to pay an additional small fee per delivery in order to receive the signature that was provided by the recipient on delivery. Very useful should you have any customer complaining that they did not receive your parcel!
Extra Insurance
Sending valuable items is always a risk. Of course they can be replaced, but you may want to take out some extra insurance to cover the risk. With the ‘Extra insurance’ service, you can insure your items up to a maximum of €5,000.
